Dear friends/colleagues,
It feels like a big day today. The election results are loud and clear and, of course, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, which marked new beginnings in Europe and elsewhere in the world.
On that note, I would like to announce that following the retirement of Philip Wilson from the partnership, I am taking over the firm, which will now be trading under the name of Malishev Engineers and will continue to focus on high quality, creative engineering in the UK and abroad.
It has been 11 interesting and productive years at MWE. Here is a brief run through of 11 selected projects which we can be proud of:
1. Teesdale-Goldfinger house (IstructE shortlisted) 2. O2 Peninsula 3. Pompano park, Florida USA, 4. 150 Cheapside glass bridge(Shortlist at World Architecture Festival, Barcelona), 5. Woodchester house (Riba awards), 6. Kingsley Place (Riba awards shortlist), 7. Tesco Gerrards Cross, 8. Colchester Art Centre facades 9. Daman bldg main entrance, 10. Mariinsky2 feature stairs (IstructE award winner) 11. Omsk 300 steel&glass features.
But it’s time to move on and here is a snap shot of our work in progress:
Right now we are working on a series of interesting projects, one of which is atrium roof and atrium glazing as well as the main entrance feature for the office building in Kiev, in collaboration with Oliver HOUCHELL STUDIO architects. The building is packed with interesting features one of which would be first use of structural glass beams in Ukraine – we call it light revolution!
